What is Nearpod

Previous to log in Nearpod as a teacher, I have already tried it as a students in many modules in TESOL. From my perspective, it is informative while students themselves could see the powerpoint on their laptop as well as finish the activities like poll and multi-choice questions. 

However, in terms of teachers, the Nearpod is not only user-friendly to present the powerpoint, but also for its multi-functional in assisting teaching.

What can Nearpod provide

With Nearpod, teachers are able to blend traditional teaching methods with various technology, bringing your lessons through multimedia elements like videos and images.It is informative for teachers about the less planning, sparking inspiration about the content.

The editing webpage

 

In Nearpod library, it includes 552 lessons in different subject,grades and partners and teachers could filers it with particular aim. Teachers are encouraged to edit the template considering their special needs.The editing is similar to powerpoint so it could be achieved without great effort.

 

‘Trick or Treating for Halloween 2021’

For example, the lesson about ‘Trick or Treating for Halloween 2021’incorporates web page opening, peers discussion, and quiz to make the lesson interactive.

Apart from that, it also allows for real-time assessment and feedback, so you can easily track your students' understanding and tailor your instruction to meet their needs. After the poll or questions, teachers could show the whole class some answers given by particular students anonymously.

 

However, the inconvenience needs to be taken into account. The monotonous design of the presentation material is the reason I would not recommend to other users. Even it is interactive with questions, polls, and discussions, it can not attract students effectively. But it would be informative to adult learners.
