Mindmeister- Create Your Own Mind Map

Mindmeister is an online tool that is mainly focused on collaboration. It aims to connect each concepts, ideas, and information during group work. Users are able to brainstorm some ideas at the same time without any disruption and after discussion people could make connections between each idea. Furthermore, improve it or dismiss it.

However, apart from collaborative function as mind mapping, it also includes personal usage, like to-do lists, note taking, project planning, lesson plan, time-lines making in different fields, from business to education.

Pros and cons

As I tried it in class, I noticed that the homepage is clear and then makes it easy for users to find the way to make a mind map. Then, the various kinds of choices provided can reach the users' particular needs. For example, for teachers, it could be used in lesson plan by listing the methodology implemented. For students, it makes it convenient to take notes or make a to-do list for each module daily or in the whole term. Finally, the output is colorful and it is convenient  for the writer himself or the reader to grasp the key points.

However, if it is a group work after discussion, the result will not show each others contribution towards the work. In this way, it is difficult to make sure that everyone makes a difference.

All in all, it is a helpful tool that improves work and learning efficiency.

Thank you for your reading.
